HDB launches 3,953 BTO flats including Kallang Whampoa of prime location public housing (PLH) model

HDB launched a total of 3,953 flats for sale in February BTO exercise including the widely anticipated Kallang Whampoa under the prime location public housing (PLH) model.

King George's Heights in Kallang/Whampoa comprises 1 residential block with 2 wings of 33 and 47 storeys. Buyers can choose from 398 units of 3-room and 4-room BTO flats.

King George’s Heights is located near Lavender MRT station and bounded by King George’s Avenue, Syed Alwi Road, and Rochor Canal.

It is the second development under the new Prime Location Public Housing (PLH) model. Find out more about the PLH model.

There are 104 units of 3-room flats and 294 units of 4-room flats at King George’s Heights, with prices starting from S$353,000 for a 3-room flat and S$488,000 for a 4-room flat excluding grants.

Another potential appeal in HDB's latest BTO exercise is Dakota Crest at Geylang, which consist of 443 units across 2-room flexi, 3-room and 4-room flat types.

The 3,953 units are spread across six projects in both mature and non-mature estates in Geylang, Kallang Whampoa, Tengah and Yishun.

  • Dakota Crest in Geylang
  • King George's Heights in Kallang/Whampoa
  • Grove Spring and Yishun Boardwalk in Yishun
  • Parc Flora and Plantation Creek in Tengah

The deadline for February BTO application is on 23 February 2022, Wednesday, 11:59 PM.

The estimated completion date of these BTO flats range from 3Q2025 to 4Q2027.

ERA Associate Division Director Andy Chia Jin Tai expects Dakota Crest and King George's Heights to be in popular demand due to its close proximity to town and MRT stations.

He predicts that both BTO projects will be oversubscribed despite their long completion time of about 5 years due to the amenities and convenience offered by these locations.

For buyers who prefer to move into their new BTO flats sooner can consider two projects in Yishun - Yishun Boardwalk and Grove Spring @ Yishun - with a much shorter waiting time of two-and-a-half years or less.

Those buyers eligible for the enhanced Central Provident Fund (CPF) Housing Grant can buy a 4-room flat at Yishun Boardwalk and Grove Spring @ Yishun from S$210,000 which is almost half the transacted HDB resale price in the vicinity.
