December BTO Exercise to feature Sin Ming HDB flats near Upper-Thomson MRT station

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) is gearing up to launch approximately 6,010 Build-to-Order (BTO) flats across eight distinctive projects in the last sales event of 2023, set for December.

One of these projects will be situated at Sin Ming Road in Bishan, marking a significant milestone as the first housing development in the area in 35 years.

Notably, the final of three projects in the eastern part of Ulu Pandan will also be unveiled in the December sales exercise, with the initial two having been introduced in November 2022 and February 2023.

Detailed information about these eight projects, which include locations in Woodlands, Jurong West, Bukit Merah, Bukit Panjang, and Bedok, was made accessible on the HDB website on October 6th.

BISHAN

The Sin Ming Road project encompasses three and four-room flats, totaling 730 units. Remarkably, this development marks the first flats constructed in the Thomson and Bishan area in central Singapore since 1988.

This site, nestled by Sin Ming Road, enjoys proximity to Catholic High School, Whitley Secondary School, and convenient access to the Upper-Thomson MRT station. Analysts predicted strong demand for these new BTO flats in the Sin Ming Road region due to pent-up demand earlier this year.

QUEENSTOWN

The Queenstown development is the third and final project in the eastern portion of Ulu Pandan, featuring 890 three and four-room flats with scenic views of Dover MRT, set to go on sale.

Previously, the Dover Forest projects, Ulu Pandan Banks and Ulu Pandan Glades, adhered to the Prime Location Public Housing model (PLH). In 2022, HDB announced plans for around 3,000 BTO flats in Ulu Pandan's eastern sector.

WOODLANDS

Woodlands will host two projects offering a combined 1,220 flats, both situated in close proximity to Woodlands MRT.

One project, adjacent to Woodlands Street 13 and Woodlands Avenue 5, will provide three and four-room flats. The other project, overlooking Woodlands MRT on Woodlands Avenue 5, will feature two-room flexi and five-room flats in addition to three and four-room flats.

BUKIT MERAH

The 900-unit Bukit Merah project will be built on a site bounded by Alexandra Park Connector and Alexandra Road, previously occupied by Alexandra Post Office. Flats in this development will include two-room flexi, three, and four-room options. Future residents will be served by the nearby Redhill MRT station, approximately 400 meters away. The project is within walking distance of Gan Eng Seng School, Alexandra Primary School, and Crescent Girls' School.

BEDOK

The December exercise's unique offering includes community care apartments designed for the elderly, complete with specialized care services. In addition to these, three, four, and five-room flats, totaling 1,230 units, will be available. The site is bordered by the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) and Bedok North Road.

JURONG WEST

Jurong West will introduce a total of 710 flats, with the project site surrounded by Jurong West Street and PIE. Flats available in this development encompass two-room flexi, three, four, and five-room options, and it's situated near Hua-Yi Secondary School.

BUKIT PANJANG

The smallest of the eight projects set to be launched in December includes a 330-unit development in Bukit Panjang. The flats available here comprise two-room flexi and four-room options, with the site bordered by Cashew Road and Petir Road. Residents will be well-served by the nearby Petir and Pending LRT stations.

In a broader context, HDB previously announced its plan to launch up to 23,000 BTO flats in 2023, with this target set to be met following the December sales exercise.
